Save your seat for the Parade on Main Street Montevideo and then come over to the Depot for a tour! Fiesta Days Parade starts at 1:00 p.m.
Model Railroad Members Working Hard
There are several of our members working on a HO scale model railroad that will represent Montevideo in the fall of 1953. The railroad will be built on two levels, with the Montevideo yard on the top level and staging tracks for trains underneath. A scale model replica of the roundhouse, turntable and other engine servicing facilities will be included, along with the depot, Interstate Restaurant, freight house, ice house and the grain elevators that were located along the tracks. We plan to have the railroad operating by Fiesta Days, and have many of the buildings in place by the holidays so the public can see the layout during open houses.
New Self-guided Walking Tour
Also by Fiesta we hope to have self guided walking tours narrated by our local students. Each tour also comes with a map and a headset to take along with you, including directions and information about the history of the Milwaukee Road. Returnable deposit required at the depot.
